The IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS)
The field of interest for EDS is all aspects of engineering, physics, theory,
experiment and simulation of electron and ion devices involving insulators,
metals, organic materials, plasmas, semiconductors, quantum-effect materials,
vacuum, and emerging materials. Specific applications of these devices
include bioelectronics, biomedical, computation, communications, displays,
electro and micro mechanics, imaging, micro actuators, optical, photovoltaics,
power, sensors and signal processing.
The Society is concerned with research, development,
design and manufacture related to materials, processing, technology, and
applications of such devices, and scientific, technical, educational and other
activities that contribute to the advancement of this field.
EDS now has about 12,500 members and more
than 100 chapters
worldwide.

EDS Japan Chapterは1972年に設立されて以来、電子デバイス分野の発展を担う日本国内会員の皆様が、研究・開発の専門家としてより一層成長するための支援活動を行っています。具体的には、先端技術に関わるワークショップや、国内外の著名な講師によるDistinguished
Lecturer (DL) 講演会を主催するとともに、関係する学会などとも連携して様々な技術会合の協賛･後援をしております。さらに会員専用メーリングリストを用いて、研究・開発活動に役立つ情報を随時提供致しております。
また、本Chapterでは、国内の大学・大学院に所属する若い研究者の中から、電子デバイス技術への貢献が大きい方を選考しEDS Japan Chapter
Student Awardを毎年授与するなど、学生研究者の学会活動を奨励し研究活動を活性化にするよう努めています。
電子デバイス分野に携わる多くの皆様のご入会を心よりお待ちしております。
