Michiyuki Uenohara Memorial Award

  The late Dr. Michiyuki Uenohara (1925-2007) served as the former Vice President of NEC and was also an Honorary Professor at Tama University. In order to honor Dr. Uenohara's outstanding achievements in the field of microwave technology, a fund was established through donations from MWE Senior Society and his bereaved family following his passing. This fund led to the establishment of the Michiyuki Uenohara Memorial Award in 2008, which is presented to the recipient who has made the most remarkable contributions among the awardees of the MTT-S Japan Young Engineer Award.

During his time at Bell Laboratories (around 1960-1962), Dr. Michiyuki Uenohara was conducting experiments on Parametric Amplifiers utilizing Varactor Diodes.

The Purpose of the Michiyuki Uenohara Memorial Award

  • The Michiyuki Uenohara Memorial Award was established to honor the achievements of the late Dr. Michiyuki Uenohara.
  • It is presented to the recipient who has made the most significant contributions among the winners of the MTT-S Japan Young Engineer Award each year.
  • The establishment of the award was made possible through donations from the MWE Senior Society and Dr. Uenohara's bereaved family.
