Result of the additional candidate(s) for Tokyo Section Officers and Executive Committee Members for Year 2015/2016

There was no nomination for the additional candidate(s) which we announced on Tokyo Bulletin No.87 issued on the August 29, 2014. We plan to resolve the election of officers and Executive Committee members which announced on the Tokyo Bulletin No.87 on the next Annual General Assembly.
Therefore, they will assume the post of officers and Executive Committee members from January 1st, 2015.



The 9th Meeting of IEEE Japan Council History Committee

The 9th Meeting of IEEE Japan Council History Committee was held on Friday, September 5, from 3:00 p.m. at the Cyberscience Center, Tohoku University, Sendai. After the meeting, Exhibition Room tour was held.



The 3rd IEEE Tokyo YPs STEP Event
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Tour

The 3rd IEEE Tokyo YPs STEP Event was held on Monday, September 8, 2014, from 2:30 p.m. at Information Technology R&D Center, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. The STEP Event is aimed for the student member to continue their IEEE membership after graduation, by providing them carrier path images as electronics, information and communication engineers and researchers, through corporation and laboratory tours. The 25 participants asked questions and took notes enthusiastically, during the lab tour.

The 2014 Third Meeting of Tokyo Section Executive Committee was held on Friday, September 12, from 3:00 p.m. at the Mitsubishi Electric Corporation head office, Tokyo.

2014 Student Branch Leadership Training Workshop

2014 Student Branch Leadership Training Workshop (SBLTW) was held at Kansai University on October 18, 2014. Currently, 26 universities have Student Branches (SBs). The 41 student representatives from 20 SBs participated. Overall participants including IEEE JC SAC officers and SB Counselors were 50. Kansai University member MC pursued the workshop. At first, the JC SAC officers introduced themselves, then Professor Onoye of Osaka University lectured them about IEEE overview and IEEE Student Branch activities. At the end of the morning session, all Student Branches introduced themselves and reported their original activities, as annual events. In the afternoon, IEEE Xplore and vTools were introduced at first, then the students participated in the group discussion program.
