講演概要:
長い間、研究開発を続けてきた衛星放送、ハイビジョン、PDP, デジタル放送等は研究としてはほぼ終了した。一方で、放送のデジタル化により、放送自身大変革の時代に突入したように見える。
特に、家電機器の視点を中心に放送の将来技術について概観する。
Abstract:
The technologies on satellite Hi-vision and digital broadcasting systems, and PDP which have been researched and developed for a long time, have almost been completed as main research items. On the other hand, it seems that broadcasting has already rushed into a era of a revolution with the digitalization of broadcasting as a turning point.
Future broadcasting technologies are surveyed focussing on the view point of consumer electronics.

昭和４２年早稲田大学理工学部電気工学科卒、同年NHK入局
平成３年 NHK放送技術研究所, デジタル放送方式研究部部長
平成７年 同所 次長
平成１１年 同所 所長
文字放送、FM多重放送、BSデジタル放送、地上デジタル放送等、新放送方式の研究開発に従事。
平成１４年 パイオニア株式会社、常務執行役員、研究開発本部長兼総合研究所長。電子情報通信学会業績賞、映像情報メディア学会著述賞、科学技術長官賞、井上春成賞等受賞。現在、工学博士。
Biography:
He graduated from Waseda University in 1967, and joined NHK. Since 1971, he had been working for NHK Science and Technical Research Laboratories. He was Director of digital broadcasting systems division during 1991 to 1995, Deputy-Director General during 1995 to1998 and Director-General during 1999 to 2002. He was a Vice-Chairman of ITU-R TG11/3(Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting) during 1992 to 1997.
He was engaged in the development of new digital broadcasting systems, teletext, FM multiplex broadcasting system(DARC)，satellite and terrestrial digital broadcasting systems.
His major fields are error correcting codes，digital modulation, and mobile reception.
He joined Pioneer in 2002 as Senior Executive Officer, General Manager of R&D Group, Director General of Corporate Research and Development Laboratories.
He has presented a lot of papers at international symposiums, or meetings, IEEE, IBC, NAB, ITU-R, Broadcast’Asia, etc. He won the Achievements Award of IEIC, Literary Award, Science and Technology Agent Award, Inoue Harusige Award etc.
