In the current state of knowledge and technology, the most promising approach for sensing and manipulating nano-objects, uses Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM). Exploiting the possibilities offered by nanometer scale and the potentials of SPM, advanced micromachines are being expected in wide range of applications such as local inspections, modification of local properties, manipulation of individuals, DNA analysis and manipulation, Bio-Cell diagnosis. Programmable self assembly and self replicating molecular structures as well as molecular logic elements are some of the driving forces for the next century's technologies.
The goal of the workshop is to bridge the gap between Nano and Macro-world through Microsystems. It will provide an exceptional opportunity to bring together French and Japanese scientists to discuss the current state of different scale's science and technology, to discuss the needs and future directions.
Fields of interest : (not limited)
-Micromachines and microtechnology for nanometer scale.
-Micro-nanomanipulation and assembly
-Scanning Probe Microscopy current states and perspectives
-Intelligent Mechatronics and Human/machine interfaces
-Biochemistry and molecular engineering
-DNA and bio-Cell analysis, genetic diagnosis
